Main Responsibilities

About the Role

As the Assistant Manager at Subway Kings Meadows, you will play a key role in our restaurant’s success. Reporting to the Business Manager, you’ll help lead the team and ensure smooth daily operations. A day in the life of our Assistant Manager will see you:

  • Lead and support the team alongside the Business Manager – working front-of-house, preparing food, and leading by example to create an amazing experience for our guests. We work as one team to make every customer feel welcome.

  • Focus on quality, service, and safety – Uphold Subway’s high standards for product quality and food safety every day. You’ll maintain compliance with all Subway® and health guidelines (keep that food prep area sparkling and safe!).

  • Train and develop staff – Coach new and existing Sandwich Artists™ on great customer service and proper procedures. You’ll deliver on-the-job training and guide team members through online modules via the University of Subway platform. Watching your team grow is part of the fun!

  • Manage operations – Assist with rostering and staffing, ordering stock and checking deliveries, and keeping track of inventory levels. You’ll also help implement in-store marketing promotions and point-of-purchase displays in line with campaigns.

  • Drive customer satisfaction – Monitor service during your shifts to ensure every guest leaves happy. You’ll handle any escalated customer complaints with a smile and a solution, and constantly encourage the team to deliver exceptional service to every customer.

  • Contribute to results – Help the Business Manager meet sales targets and operational KPIs by running efficient shifts and motivating the team. When the Business Manager is away, you’ll confidently step up to oversee the restaurant. Together, we’ll make sure the store meets its goals while keeping our crew upbeat and our customers coming back!

We’re after an Assistant Manager who is passionate, reliable, and ready to shine. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Leadership Experience: You have some experience leading or supervising a team in a fast-paced retail or hospitality setting (e.g. as a shift supervisor, team leader, or senior crew member). You’re comfortable taking charge and challenging the status quo to make improvements.

  • Communication & Teamwork: Excellent people skills – you communicate clearly, listen to feedback, and work well with a diverse team. You know how to motivate others and foster a one-team atmosphere built on respect and honesty.

  • Ownership & Resilience: A strong sense of ownership over your responsibilities – you treat the business as if it’s your own. When problems arise, you handle them with resilience and determination. (Don’t worry, we’ve got your back with support when you need it!)

Essential: You must have valid working rights in Australia. Prior Subway® experience is a bonus but not required – we will provide full training for the right candidate. What matters most is your attitude and leadership potential.
